Welcome to the weight loss with hypnosis podcast episode zero, the intro. My name is Doug Sands, and I’m a professional hypnotist who helps people all around the world to lose weight, heal their body image and overcome compulsive eating. No much of what I do focuses on weight loss. I work extensively with disordered eating with body image issues, and even with body dysmorphia.
This brief episode is about finding exactly who this podcast is for. To see if you are in the right place. The weight loss with hypnosis podcast is all about bringing cutting edge, knowledge and resources to help you with excess weight with body image issues and with compulsive eating.

If you’re someone who is struggling with your body image, someone fighting the unconscious programming that years of negative social media norms have ingrained in your mind. If you’re someone concerned that you may have body dysmorphia, or even if you’ve been diagnosed with body dysmorphia, this podcast is for you.

I often work with people who seem outwardly completely healthy, but they still might struggle with unexpected binges. Maybe it’s only once a week, once a month or even a few times a year. But when it does strike, they feel completely out of control to stop it. This podcast is going to show you how to take back that control.
And we’ll touch more on that in just a minute. I often work with bodybuilders who seem to be crushing it, but they still have a very unhealthy relationship with their eating and with their body image. I also often work with people who haven’t told anyone about their disordered eating. Many still feel too ashame to face the issue in public and ask for that help and I don’t blame them. Many don’t want to spend months or even years in therapy working through [00:03:00] these issues. Then I explained to them that hypnosis is a powerfully effective way to deal with the root cause oftentimes in a single session. And we’ll touch on more of that as well in upcoming episodes.
Before that I need to share the structure of this podcast. It’s going to be a healthy mix.
Going off of that phrase, all things in moderation. Some of the shows will be solo, especially the beginning shows. I’ll be breaking down a new aspect of our weight, of our eating and body image in easy to understand language, to give you resources that you can use to deal with these issues. Some of these shows will be guest interviews.
One of my main goals with this show is to give my clients and future clients information about complimentary health professionals. Whether that’s nutritionists, dieticians, health coaches, psychologists, or another professional in the field. Together, we work on different areas of the issue to help our clients with a well [00:04:00] rounded approach.
The goal of interviewing them is twofold. Number one, you’re going to get cutting edge information from the source. Remember, I’m a hypnotist, not a nutritionist or a health coach. I do not claim to be an expert in all of these areas and that’s why I am interviewing the experts who have this knowledge.
Even if you’re not currently searching for a health coach or nutritionist, you’ll still get powerful tips, tools, and knowledge that you can implement today. And number two, you’re going to get to test drive your health expert before you even come in for that first session. Many clients wants help from a nutritionist or a coach or another expert in the field, but they get overwhelmed with the options.
In these interviews, you’re going to get to see what separate each expert from the crowd. Many specialized in very distinct niches. For example, I work with health experts who specialize in PCOS, in [00:05:00] beriatrics, in body dysmorphia, in gut health body connection, and even bodybuilding, and so many more areas. You’ll also get a sample of each expert’s personality.
So much of our health journey is very personal to us. If one of the experts on the show doesn’t quite fit your personality, that’s fine. Find the help that best fits you, because that’s what’s going to give you the best results in the long term. Along the way, you’ll also get bits of my own journey, the mistakes I’ve made, the struggles I’ve faced and the reasons I’ve made this my career.
You’ll also hear that you’re not alone in struggling with this. I struggled with compulsive eating for years. It was my main coping mechanism for dealing with difficult emotions. And even after I’ve lost the extra weight, it took some effort and some powerful hypnosis to finally release that terrible relationship I’d had for years with food.[00:06:00]
Most of all, I want to congratulate you. You’re taking the very first step, which is often the hardest to make. You’re finding out more about what you can do to overcome this issue once and for all. I’m excited for you. I’m excited that you’re taking this step and listening to this podcast.
